How to Prepare for IPMAT

Stage 1 — Build the foundation. Complete percentages, ratio, average, profit & loss, time-work, time-distance, number system, algebra and geometry in Quant; vocabulary, grammar, reading habit and RC in English; series, coding, arrangements, blood relations and syllogisms in Reasoning.

Stage 2 — Start IPMAT-level questions. Move to topic-wise practice, previous-year questions, sectional tests, timed practice and mixed-question sets. Don't stay stuck at school-level difficulty.

Stage 3 — Previous-year questions. PYQs reveal difficulty level, question style, repeated concepts, time pressure and sectional requirements. Keep a separate notebook for difficult questions.

Stage 4 — Mock tests. Start with one mock a week, moving to 2–3 a week as the exam nears. A mock test is useful only when you analyse it — after every mock, identify what you got wrong, what you guessed, what took too long, what you left despite knowing it, and which concepts need revision.

Avoid collecting too many books. One reliable quant book (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, number system, modern math), a grammar book plus vocabulary and RC material plus editorials for English, and one standard logical reasoning book. Class-Wise Preparation Plans

Class 11 students

Class 11 is arguably the best time to start — even 1.5–2 hours daily builds a strong foundation. Suggested daily routine: 30 min Mathematics, 30 min Reading, 20 min Vocabulary, 20 min Reasoning, 10 min Current Affairs.

Class 12 students
